Among the top choices is the prestigious Eton College, which both Prince William and Prince Harry attended. In 2023, George and his parents were spotted touring the historic institution. Although George wouldn’t begin attending until age 13, Eton requires prospective students to register by the time they turn 10. The school’s annual tuition is around £46,000 (approximately $59,000 USD).
Highgate School and the Debate Over Phone Use in Schools
Another notable school that has come up in discussions is Highgate School, known for its academic excellence. However, it’s not just its reputation that’s making headlines—it’s also the school’s stance on technology.
Headmaster Adam Pettitt has introduced a ban on mobile phones at the school, which he says has had a positive impact on student interaction. In an interview with The Times, Pettitt remarked, “It has reintroduced conversation to form rooms.” He also emphasized the need for parents to be mindful of how their children spend time outside of screens.
In comments reported by GB News, Pettitt explained:
“Age-based restrictions on cell phone use are a good first step, but how adults spend time with children is paramount. Beyond limiting screen time, we must actively promote alternatives. Children need opportunities to play, enjoy safe screen-free time, and share meaningful experiences with the adults who care for them.”
