Former President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, stepped out in New York City to mingle with celebrities at the Broadway premiere of Othello—just days after Democrats criticized his apparent attempt to reclaim the party spotlight.

The 82-year-old ex-president joined a VIP audience on Sunday to watch Hollywood heavyweights Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal bring Shakespeare’s classic tragedy to life.
Dressed in a black tuxedo, Biden gave a quick wave as he exited his motorcade and was escorted into Midtown Manhattan’s Barrymore Theatre ahead of the star-studded event.
His wife, dazzling in a shimmering teal-blue dress, followed closely behind in their first major public outing since leaving the White House.

Later, the former first lady shared a snapshot of the couple on Instagram, captioning it “date night.”
“Riveting… brilliant … BRAVO!” she wrote alongside a photo of them inside the theater after the final curtain fell.
The couple also joined the entire cast on stage for a group photo and were seen shaking hands with the two leading men.
Their Broadway outing came just days after former aides and fellow Democrats criticized the Bidens over reports that they had offered to help revitalize the party’s image and fundraising efforts.

Since departing Washington, the pair have reportedly met with newly elected Democratic National Committee Chairman Ken Martin to pitch themselves for a revamped campaign strategy.
“No voter wants to hear from him. It’s delusional and arrogant for him to think he can still add value to the Democratic Party. We need to move on from the Biden era and embrace a new generation of leadership.”
Another former senior White House adviser echoed the sentiment, saying, “The Bidens are still living in an alternate reality where everything revolves around them.
