Senator Adam Schiff strongly criticizes Donald Trump for his “shameful” confrontation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office, calling it “heartbreaking” and insisting that Congress must take action.
“I literally just got off the plane and, of course, read all the reports about what transpired in the Oval Office,” Schiff remarked. “I can’t think of a more disgraceful moment for a U.S. president in my lifetime.”
Reflecting on the legacy of past generations, he added, “When I think of everything the Greatest Generation accomplished, the values they fought for, and all that this country has stood for—defending democracy globally and standing by our allies—it is absolutely heartbreaking to witness such a betrayal.”
