As reported by The Providence Journal, in September 2018, Jimenez paid a visit to Caprio in court when he was 51 years old. He shared that he had settled a parking ticket but had been unable to cover the associated late fee. Jimenez also wished to provide an update on his life, noting that his first encounter with Caprio had occurred when he was just 18 years old.
At that time, Jimenez’s license had faced multiple suspensions due to traffic violations and driving under the influence, as detailed in The Providence Journal. During their initial meeting, Caprio had presented the young man with a choice: he could either face imprisonment or potentially worse consequences.
Jimenez recalled the pivotal words spoken by Caprio more than three decades ago, saying, “I said, ‘I want to be somebody.'” His transformation over the years clearly demonstrated his unwavering commitment to becoming the person he aspired to be.
According to The Providence Journal, Jimenez diligently worked toward becoming a U.S. citizen, adopted more responsible driving habits, and obtained a commercial driver’s license. He even established his own business, JLJ Landscaping & Construction
