Farley’s fourth appearance on the show marked his debut in a sketch, and it didn’t take long for the audience’s reaction to confirm that he would be a fixture on SNL for a while.

The Chippendales skit remains one of SNL’s most cherished segments, and for good reason. Farley and Swayze’s provocative dance to Loverboy’s “Working for the Weekend” is unforgettable. The judges, despite their efforts to maintain a serious demeanor during the performance, find it nearly impossible to suppress their laughter—except for the trained actors among them.

Kevin Nealon, one of the judges in the skit, admitted that it was one of the toughest challenges he faced in trying not to burst out laughing.

According to Mike Myers, another judge in the skit, he had to adopt a restrained, perplexed expression akin to a dog hearing an unusual sound in order to keep a straight face—an anecdote he shared in the 2015 documentary, “I Am Chris Farley.”
