After five very long weeks, Ryan’s family was finally able to conceive their daughter for the first time. Her mother said she felt like the whole world was in her hands when she picked her up and brought her home.
His mother went on to say that instead of sleeping that night, she sat up and watched Ryan sleep. Around 11 p.m. that evening, Ryan stopped breathing and her mother had to start mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to get her daughter to respond.
He was again taken to the emergency room, where Ryan was discharged to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). This time she was there for a month while doing audition after audition. Doctors insisted she only had reflux.
Ryan is now in a wheelchair and has battled a host of other issues, including infections, asthma and even comas. However, she is happy and continues to fight, according to her mother. But when it comes to school outings for the 10-year-old, it can be difficult as she is in a wheelchair. You often have to sit with them.
His mentor Jim Freeman wasn’t about to let that happen on a recent outing to the Ohio Fossil Family. He made the little girl an offer she really couldn’t resist.
As reported by KARE, Ryan said he would be willing to use a backpack to carry her around all day so she could enjoy the ride with the rest of her classmates. Her mother couldn’t wait to post those particular photos on Facebook! Check them out below and you’ll see why:
