In his interview with KHOU, Tim conveyed the challenges of being under state care, likening it to a form of confinement without physical walls. “It’s kind of like being in a prison without walls. You got runners, but then where you gonna (sic) go if you run? Absolutely nowhere but right back to where you ran from,” he explained.
Yearning for the sense of freedom he has never experienced, Tim expressed that having a family would grant him the liberty to go out when he pleases, with the assurance that they trust him. “Freedom. Freedom to go out the door when I want and them not worrying about me coming back or not because they know they can trust me,” he stated.
Asserting his good nature, Tim hoped that a family would recognize his positive qualities. “At home, I am an angel. Perfect,” he affirmed, emphasizing his longing for people who genuinely care about him. “Someone that cares, who’s always worried. I may seem embarrassed sometimes (by her worrying) but she’ll still be wondering if I’m OK. She’ll ask how my day is every time I walk through the door,” he shared. Tim also expressed a desire for a father figure who would guide him into manhood and engage in simple activities, such as playing basketball together. “If I go outside, he’ll go outside with me. He’ll give me some normalcy,” he added.
Discussing his experience as an only child, Tim revealed feelings of loneliness, noting that playing alone can become monotonous. Thus, he expressed a willingness to have brothers and sisters, highlighting the potential for learning and companionship.
