A surprising moment occurred recently at “Six Flags Mexico” when one of its most towering attractions, “the swing ride”, suddenly stopped, leaving passengers suspended approximately 70 meters (230 feet) in the air. While the incident sparked concern on social media, some eyewitnesses have clarified that the situation was not as terrifying as certain news reports have described.

The Incident: A Safety Stop

The event was caught on video and quickly went viral, showing visitors stranded high above the ground. However, according to **Ruth Mondragón (@RuthMondragon-m8g)**, who was on the ride at the time, the situation was far from frightening.

“I was one of those supposedly terrified riders. Honestly, my companion and I were more worried about how cold we were after getting soaked. In general, everyone remained calm, and all rides have excellent safety systems in place to stop in case of a potential risk,” she shared on social media.

Mondragón also highlighted the “friendliness and warmth” of the park staff, emphasizing that she never felt genuinely afraid, as she trusted the ride’s safety measures.

Safety in Amusement Park Rides

Six Flags Mexico has not released an official statement detailing the cause of the stop, but incidents like these are typically part of standard safety protocols. Amusement park rides are designed to halt automatically if they detect any irregularities, preventing more serious issues.

Although some visitors may have felt discomfort due to the wait in the air and the cold weather, “eyewitness accounts suggest this was more of a minor inconvenience than a moment of panic”.

An Unusual, but Safe, Experience

Despite the incident, those who experienced this unexpected stop noted that “the view from above was breathtaking”, and it did not ruin their visit to the park. In fact, Mondragón mentioned that the “Flash-themed sweatshirts” she bought at the park turned out to be a great purchase to keep warm.

This case serves as a reminder that “amusement parks have strict safety protocols in place to protect their guests”. While rides may stop unexpectedly at times, they are designed to ensure visitor safety at all times.
