For those who don’t know, the Carolina Shag has been Carolina’s official dance since 1984. It originated in Atlantic Beach, but most would agree it’s the modern dance of Myrtle Beach.

The Carolina Shag is also known to be the perfect dance for beach music, vintage shows, and rhythm and blues. People can easily learn and dance to it in many social settings, including ballrooms, nightclubs, parties, weddings, and cruises.

Now, a group of teens aged 12 to 17 from North and South Carolina show everyone how it should be done, and an incredible dance routine that has fans jumping to their feet as they dance. .

The Junior Shag Dance team travels the world performing the Carolina Shag and has 13 titles to their credit, including seven-time Grand Champion of the United States National Team.

In the video of their dazzling performance below, the band stunned the audience as Carolina Shagg danced to a variety of songs, including Aretha Franklin’s classic “Think” and James’ “How Long Can A Fool Go Wrong.” . cotton.

The girls in their cool, modest and stunning pink jumpsuits danced with their smart male partners in black shirts and pants.

Their movements are very sophisticated at first, like they’re on set in a Jane Austen adaptation of the ball re-enactment, but once the kicks get into the grooves it’s an impressive display.
