Oriany De Oliviera from Venezuela has been working abroad for a long time and hasn’t been able to see her beloved dog, Layla. And even though Oriany knows her family is doing a wonderful job taking care of Layla, she still misses her faithful companion. Something I’m sure all dog owners can relate to.
“She’s the love of my life. It has been difficult to be without her, my companion and best friend. I miss her so much,” Oriany told The Dodo.
But after nine months apart, Layla finally got to see her best friend again — on a television screen.
During her time away from Argentina, Oriany has had continuous contact with her mother by telephone. Every time she calls chat, Oriany asks about her dog and her mom always assures her that she’s fine. But still, Oriany wonders if Layla misses her as much as she misses Layla.
Then one day, her mother decided to surprise her. So when Oriany called, her mom had arranged a video call — with Layla.
Layla’s reaction when she finally saw her beloved owner again is amazing. She completely flipped out and didn’t know what to do. Her owner was home — or was she?
It wasn’t the most ideal reunion, but still, it was a reunion. So it was with bittersweet feelings that Oriany was able to see her dog again.
“It felt incredible. It felt good thats she recognized me, but I also got a little sad because I could see how much she was missing me,” Oriany told The Dodo.
Oriany says that she hopes to fly back to Venezuela soon to meet Layla again. In the meantime, at least she knows that she has someone at home who really misses her!
“My relationship with her has been spectacular and incredible. But of course, she’s very happy with my mother,” she told The Dodo.
