The detective wasn’t the only one wanting to make things right for Brian. Several community members called the police station and asked what they could do for him. They all come together in a joint collaboration with Brian’s family to throw him a surprise birthday party.
They were able to find Brian’s bike which was similar to the one that was stolen, and they also provided him with a helmet and a lock to keep his bike safe in the future and to prevent something similar from happening. reproduce. Not only did they introduce Brian to his new bike, but they funded a bounce house and donated a Batman cake.
Detective Gray spoke to Log Cabin Democrat and said: “It’s appalling for a 6 year old to lose his bike just before his birthday. I won’t say right or wrong, but I will correct the mistake of the best we can. It’s such a good thing that the entire Central Arkansas community is united for it.”
Brian’s reaction brought everyone to tears. When he saw his new bike, he looked stunned and started crying. He hugged his mother, who was also overwhelmed at the moment – but they weren’t the only ones. “His reaction is priceless. Detective Gray said there must be dust in the air because my eyes were watering a bit.”
As for Brian, this act of kindness is further proof that helping people is what he wants to do for his future. His mother, Carmen Jeffrey, told Log Cabin Democrat:
“When he was in kindergarten, they asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up. He was dressed as a policeman, and he always wanted to be either a policeman or a firefighter. He just wanted to help people.”
We have no doubt that Brian could follow the lead of the Conway Police Department.
