Police responded to reports of a dog at large in Howell, New Jersey, but found something much worse. The one-family home with 276 dogs was the worst hoarding situation they had ever seen.

Authorities worked to rescue dogs from severe hoarding 12 hours a day.

It’d be weeks before the dogs would be ready to go on to forever homes, but they were already so happy and couldn’t wait to get started on their new lives.

Many thanks to everyone who participated in this!
