Nowadays, many shelters around the world are filled with millions of dogs. Some have been abandoned and some are homeless or strays. The experience for a dog who is newly brought to a new strange place with many other dogs barking and people it doesn’t know can be very overwhelming and stressful. The reaction can cause to some dogs to act out aggressively since they are still confused.
One of these dogs are Eddie, She had been brought into a shelter in a terrible shape with her fur filled with mattes. Eddie was so afraid and confused, her anti-social and aggressive behavior made her un-adoptable and selected for euthanasia. Thankfully, a kind person decided to save her and give her a second chance of life. With the help of Hope for Paws, Edie was brought into the vet for an examination. The moment she realized, she was actually safe and those people were trying to help her, she calmed down and turned into a loving, adorable dog.
As you can see on the video below, a shelter can be a creepy place – that is why it is important that adopters remember this and not overlook dogs, like Edie, who just need a good hug and proper attention. Rescue dog can be scared of everyone, but when she realizes everything’s going to be okay… Wow. One of the most touching moments I’ve ever seen.
